Adventure is an idea, an emotion, an approach to life. Our activities have shifted throughout our lives, but our sense of adventure and our ability to find adventure in the world around us remain undiminished.

You see, our previous careers allowed us to visit locales varied and far. We tramped Central Asia and visited Samarkand and saw Tamerlane’s tomb. We dove and snorkeled the Yucatan, and shopped the souk of Tunis. We skied Europe, cycled in Australia, and fished the Indian Ocean. We took photo safaris, swam in the Red Sea, and toured the Holy Land in Israel where we walked the same streets and pathways as Jesus and the Twelve. And not to be dismissed lightly, we have traveled extensively within the USA, enjoying her wondrous and diverse sights.

We have also enjoyed the armchair adventures of a quiet afternoon spent reading National Geographic, Outside, or any of the classics of adventure literature. We grew up with Saturday afternoon Tarzan movies, we’ve vicariously shared in the exploits of Indiana Jones, and we still like to watch Nature and Nova on PBS.
